One of the truly great things about Twitter is that the simplest function on there is to just block people. You know, the type who "snoop" a little too much online for their own good, and are out to stalk and do malice when they're not way too busy shilling for dubious organizations...and events.

Another marvelous Twitter function is comparing the reality of what someone has in Twitter followers to what the bogus claim is about that elsewhere.

For instance, none other than K i m Ma n c e tells one of her woppers about authentic Travel Blogger Jeanne Dee when she states in a post on Matadornetwork last November, in the thread by Julie Schwietert about environmental impact and cruise ships, that Jeanne lost "scores" of followers by tweeting too much on that same topic. Reality? Jeanne Dee has over 50,000 Twitter followers. Go Jeanne! Fanned! Another follower in me, and keep on telling it to the bitches like it is! After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

>>that Jeanne lost "scores" of followers by tweeting too much on that same topic. <<

Not taking one side or the other, because I don't know too much about the issues involved BUT ...

How could anyone know that? I've lost followers, but no reason was ever given; indeed, I wasn't even told I was being 'unfollowed'. I once lost 30 in one night. I assumed Twitter were having a periodic clean-out of the 'dross'; I don't think I lost any I valued.

Best,

Keith

Well, yes, exactly -- but that was Ki m M a nce 's false assertion, that Jeanne Dee lost "scores" of followers because Jeanne was tweeting about topics that made Blogger Diva M an ce uncomfortable regarding cruise ship travel. So Diva Mance made up a little story about Jeanne Dee. She has a habit of doing that...just the other week, for instance, she was tweeting to that other worthless wonder Sheila Scarborough that I was "hating" on her because I created that TBEX thread. So yes, how does she know that exactly? The fact is, on both counts, that cruise ship travel does leave a much huger environmental footprint that taking a bicycle. It's not only a valid issue in this world but a major one...far more valid than the rather dubious assertion that all media is vanishing and only some of the travel blogger clique who do their business model a certain way is going to be left standing. The fact is also, that raising questions about TBEX or any other blogger event is happening not just from me but from increasing numbers of other people too, who either see little or no value in them or suspect they've been taken for a scammer's ride by some. People who are sick and tired of a certain subset of the travel blogger contingent who popped up in that same TBEX thread (namely: Scarborough, Brown, Manzanares) and elsewhere where Creepy Sheila is whining about me and M an ce chimes in. Mr. Plouffe told them to basically naff off -- how funny.
